Amak is a freelance photographer, she refers a lot to memories in her personal work, as they belong only to us to she tries to create series on this. Fascinated by the process of memories fading as you have to go back and remember, a photograph can help remind us of the past and the present. Freezing the time and the person. Creating a narrative of identity.
Shenasnameh (شناسنامه) is a series of personal stories to her. She states that it is important to have enough knowledge to share it socially and have the confidence to share your own experiences. The project is based on document/booklet that provides your identity, including images, finger prints and personal information, however the image has to be updated to showcase your identity clearly.
In creating the book for this project she ensured to think about the viewers experience. How they interact and engage with the work. So by hand making the book bags and wax sealing them ensures that the viewer is aware of their engagement, touching and feeling the materials and work.
She states how thinking about the final product is very important as that is the first thing that the audience will interact with and view your work. So it needs to make a good initial impact to intrigue the audience to view the rest of the work.
Each of her projects inform her next, through the research conducted and the final outcomes created it forms an understanding for the next photographic journey. Almost all of her projects stem from identity, exploring the variety of ways in which individuals are unique.
