About Websites ~
A website is an important tool as it allows for more people to view your work and services. Unlike social media, everyone can gain access to webpages on any device. When making a website it is crucial to check how responsive the host (the website builder) is, adapting to both desktop and mobile devices. Then thinking about branding, colour schemes and function is key to a successful and easily accessed website.
Due to my future career aspects in photography, I wanted to create a website that was like a online portfolio. Presenting my current work and keeping this section up to date, while showcasing my best photographs from a variety of works. I chose to explore the free website options, which while creating them would give me free accessibility, then buying a domaine would allow my free website to be found and viewed by a wide audience.
The Host ~
Squarespace offers a free trail for two weeks, but once the trail ends the minimum monthly payment was £10 for personal and £15 for business. The process of selecting template's is easy due to the filter's that narrow them down. The host lets you create a favourite list, accessable at any time.
Overall this website builder gives the creator freedom to select or create from scratch their own personal website. But the technicalities to altering text, colours and free moving objects can prove a challenge.
