Within the museum in Leeds they hold a variety of historical education along with current global issues of today. The aim of the museum is to educate both young and old, showcasing the journey of mankind and how we developed, lived and survived to this point.
One of the most interesting areas of the museum for myself was the Covid 19 pandemic gallery. Presenting a variety of mediums for the audience to interact with and learn about the issue in more depth. Large scale images depicted the scenes that nurses and health care professionals had to endure through this hard time, while a video with audio accompanied the quotes and facts on the wall.
Combining the mediums helps to engage with all ages, stimulating all of the senses. Having such a gallery in the museum showcases the harsh realty that a photograph can capture and share with the rest of society. Sharing part of the truth, while the video with real people enhances the real loved experiences.
